Global Warming vs. Snow Storms

February 16th, 2010

This has been going on for a few weeks now; every conservative media outlet is denouncing the claim of global warming because it’s snowing in Winter.

I won’t get into the debate, but this video pretty much makes those individuals/organizations look like asshats.

If anything, show some love for Bill Nye “The Science Guy.”

Del Shannon has been dead for 20 years

February 10th, 2010

I realize four things while watching this video:

  1. I wish my high school dances were like this.
  2. I wish I lived in the 1950′s (sans 1950′s technology).
  3. The Fender Stratocaster is timeless.
  4. It sucks Del Shannon killed himself 20 years ago (to date) suffering from depression.

Lets hope he found his little runaway…

A pretty good remake:

“Obviously, A Major Malfunction”

February 4th, 2010

Very interesting: Twenty-four years after the Challenger disaster, new footage of the shuttle’s catastrophic explosion has surfaced, depicting the space shuttle’s disintegration over the Atlantic Ocean.

I find America’s space programs fascinating – it will be interesting to see how the recently planned budget cuts may affect the  upcoming Constellation program.

The shuttle program is being phase out early 2011 and only a handful of missions are left.  I’m planning a May trip to Cape Canaveral to witness this large piece of America history.
